Historical Description
Colour Code is an international Code meant for understanding coloured technical designs of bobbin lace. Its diffusion dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Belgian nuns adopted it for teaching: each colour stands for a particular technical solution.
Today it is well known outside Italy, since it favours easy exchanges and spread of information among lacemakers, breaking down the language barrier.
