Cantù Lace

Cantù has a strong and ancient lace tradition. Ancient as it is in this area that the first evidence of bobbin lace production in Italy was discovered. A Strong tradition as this production has been always part of the territory, both for work opportunities and, for design and training at an institutional level. This proposed course aims to explore the continuous evolution of style in the lace designs of the Cantù lacemakers, assisted during some periods even by famous artists. The type of stitches are still the same, design and style have been adapted to the contemporary taste.
