IBIMET - CNR

The Institute of Biometeorology, IBIMET-CNR - www.ibimet.cnr.it -, is a research institute of the National Research Council of Italy, located in Florence, Bologna, Sassari and Rome, working on land and territorial management, safeguard and development through research, technological transfer, education and training. Special focus of the Institute activities is the relationship with local territories and the production system. Research activities are related to Earth observation and analysis, critical interactions between meteo/climatic factors and vegetation, rural development. As regards to rural development, IBIMET-CNR projects aim at studying sustainable exploitation of environmental resources by recovering traditional productions, territorial knowledge and culture, even linked to no-food resources. Analysing effects of globalisation on local resources and economies in collaboration with local communities, public and private stakeholders, as well as with national ones, such as, Italian Ministries, makes it possible to support rural development research and actions according to bottom-up methodologies fostering networking and the integration of agriculture, safeguard and preservation of territorial environment, landscape and culture.

Percorsi di Orientamento

"Percorsi di Orientamento" is promoted and financed by the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The project regions are: Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Sardinia and Campania.

The project objectives are:

 

  • To promote female entrepreneurship in rural areas as a means for rural development and safeguard of agricultural and crafts knowledge.
  • To support women employment through vocational guidance towards the enterprise development.
  • To define possible local textile processing chains related to wool, fibre and dyeing plants production and their application in the textile craft sector.

I year - To analyse female enterprise, in the over mentioned fields, in the four project regions.

II years - Vocational guidance and information activities have been carried out through a skill assessment session which has been followed by two technical workshops on enterprise management, communication and marketing.

III years - An experimental path will test the possibility for women entrepreneurs to produce textile craft prototypes through networking, designing products and communication, by, when possible, recovering raw material coming from local territories.

The conference

A conference that will be held on the 15th of may 2011 at Fiere di Parma within Italia Invita (13-14-15 , May 2011) will report project results. An exhibition of textile products, which will be the results of the third years project activities in the four project regions, will be held at Italia Invita exhibition.
